EK Law Section III.C. The Agenda for the Curia Regis

  • 1. Any items that the Crown adds to the agenda after the Curia Regis has been announced will be added to the agenda under “New Business”.
  • 2. Any items of business held over from a prior Curia Regis during the same Reign will be automatically added to the agenda of any subsequent Curia Regis during the same Reign under “Old Business”.

V. Court Appointments and Champions

C. The Crown’s Champions

  1. Will be chosen as follows:
    • g. The Crown’s Youth Champions of Arms will be the overall winners of the tournaments for fighters in Division 2 and Division 3. The Crown will name champions from multiple divisions (one, two, or three) if separate tournaments are held for the divisions.
  2. Will have the following duties:
    • c. Advise and assist the Crown in the organization of the tournaments or competitions to choose their successors, with the exception of the Crown’s Youth Champions of Arms as appropriate. The Kingdom Youth Earl Marshal will assist the Crown’s Youth Champions of Arms as appropriate; and will supervise, or arrange for the supervision of, the Crown’s Youth Champions of Arms tournaments.
  3. Will maintain their positions until the next tournament or competition to choose their successors, unless the Crown they are serving finds it necessary to replace them before the end of their term. Champions may not succeed themselves. The Youth Champions of Arms’s terms end at the end of the event at which they are named the Crown’s Youth Champions of Arms when the Monarchs that selected them step down. A youth may be named as champion multiple times within a reign.
VIII. Events

A. Kingdom Events

  1. Coronations, Crown Tournaments, Twelfth Night, Baronial Investitures, and the various Crown’s Champions Tournaments, with the exception of the Crown’s Youth Champions of Arms, are Kingdom Events. All dates for Kingdom Events to be held are preferred dates; prospective sponsors or hosts are encouraged to submit bids for dates within the listed timeframes if at all possible.
  1. Any branch, group, or individual wishing to sponsor or host a Coronation, Crown Tournament, Twelfth Night, or a Crown’s Champions Tournament, except for the Crown’s Youth Champions of Arms, must submit a bid package via email, to the Crown, the Heirs, the Kingdom Seneschal, the Event Clerk, and the Kingdom Chancellor of the Exchequer. Baronial Investitures are not required to submit a bid package unless combined with another Kingdom Event per Section VIII.A.4. The Crown’s Youth Champions of Arms tournaments are not bid, per Section VIII.A.9.a.iii.
  1. Champions Tournaments
    • a. iii. Tournaments and competitions to determine the The Crown’s Youth Champions of Arms will be determined at any East Kingdom event that is a Royal Progress and has a martial tournament for youth. held at each Coronation or Crown Tournament if the Crown requests it. Bids to host the Youth Champions of Arms at a Coronation or Crown Tournament will follow the relevant submission deadlines in VIII.A.5. or VIII.A.6.
IX. Awards

E. Armigerous Orders

1.a. Companions of an Armigerous Order will be entitled to a scroll proclaiming their induction into the Order if they have not previously been awarded arms; or a scroll proclaiming their induction into the Order may be requested by the Crow

  • From East Kingdom law:

    Laws may be enacted, amended, or repealed only by the Crown, after consultation with the Curia Regis.

    The purpose of the Curia Regis is for the Crown to solicit and listen to the opinions of those with seats on Curia, giving adequate time for discussion. While it is not a requirement, the Crown is advised to act with the consensus of those with seats on Curia.

    The following are entitled to a seat on the Curia Regis. With the exception of the Crown, these people may send representatives to the Curia to fill their seats if they are unable to attend.

    E. Others Invited

    East Kingdom Royal Peers and Territorial Baron/esses are also invited to attend, and have the right to be heard by the Crown.

    Any other gentle who wishes to attend is welcome, but may speak only if recognized by the Crown.
